DAY 1:
1. Sundial bridge:
Nice bridge. take a break in the drive. Don't waste too much time.
Check out the garden if you are going in the blooming season or else not worth it to waste too much time.
2.Volcano Scenic Byway:
This runs from Lassen national park up till crater lake. We could join this at mt Shasta and go north till crater lake or go to Lake Almanor and then go north (if we really want to do whole of the scenic way, this route has more of local roads involved which would slow us down and take longer.)
This route covers all the places we are thinking to visit and listed as scenic by NPS.
3. Mc Arthur- Burney falls: Not a long hike just beside parking lot.
Very impressive falls. Take time and enjoy the beauty. We walked down to the water.

(Note: Don waste too much time here as this will cut time for Mossbrea. Mossbrea cant be done of it nearing sunset)
4. Hedge brook falls:
very short trail and very small falls. This leads to the next destination which is mossbrea. LLook for headge brook falls
5. Mossbrea falls:
Have to go to hedge brrok falls and then go in the forest from there. Its not a monitored hike. NO trial. Very Strenuous. Have to hike in the wild to get to the falls. Dont do it if its nearing sunset or u r scared of hiking in the wild.It is said to be very very beautiful and amazing for photography enthusiasts. We cunt do it as it was nearing sunset.(getting lost in the wild felt a bad idea)
6.Mt Shasta:
Nthing specific to visit. Good for water sports.
Scenic drive again.
Can stop for lunch in mt.shasta downtown which has good restouranta.
Everitt Vista Point: (Optional.Cut this if you want to make it to lavender farms on time which very very pretty.)
Drive up Mount Shasta on the Everitt Memorial Highway (just follow Lake Street up out of the center of Mt. Shasta City past the high school). After you drive approximately 8 miles, you will see the sign for the popular Everitt Vista Point 1/2 mile before the destination. The view west over the valley from your car is breathtaking, but if you walk through the parking lot and take the trail starting next to the restroom facility, you will soon come to a stone lookout which affords a panoramic view to the south. On a clear day you will see Mount Lassen and Castle Crags in the south, with the sweep of the Eddy Mountains and distant Marble Mountain Wilderness Area to the west. The Everitt Vista Point lookout is the location of frequent "star parties" during the summer, where local astronomers bring their telescopes and binoculars for the celestial show. Check the local paper the Mt. Shasta Herald, to see if a star gazing party is planned during your stay.

7.Mt Shaste Lavender farms: (We missed it. It was closed for season)
On the way to Klamath falls.Located on the scenic drive.

8.Klamath Falls: (Nothing specific to see. We stayed here for the night)
Closest accommodation we could find near crater lake was in Klamath Falls which is a small town)

Day 2:
We had most of the morning of day 2 to realx and explore the resort we stayed in and went to crater lake for sun set.
9.Crater lake:
Current road conditions:
Spring opening
Only small part of the rim is open currently.Watchman point is good for sun set. But we could go to the cratelake lodge and have the view.These people have sunset gatherings I believe.
This link lists all the hikes and trails near crater lake. No idea how many of these are open at this time.
Go to the lodge for ranger talks to get info about crater lake and a great view from the patio with a cuppa coffee.
Day 3:
10. Tule Lake:
Just drive by to see wildlife. We saw a deer right beside the road.
Note: don't waste too much time. You need time for Lava beds caves.
11.Lavabed National Monument:
This is a list of self-guided caves tour, we can choose from the difficulty level and time needed to exlpore and decide which one we want to do.
Things to carry:
Flash lights are provided at visitor center.
dress code: long pants, closed shoes are required.
No food here until very long. Carry food. You are bound to get hungry after the hiking into the caves. Visitor center has very few snacks like peanuts n stuff.
We did : skull cave , Indian well cave(my fav)
wanted to do golden dome cave but ran out of time.
Other thigns to do at LAVA BED
Additional: If time permits, you could go to lassen national park which completes the valcanoic scenic by pass.
We did't visit Lassen Natinal park and came back to Redding and took I-5 back to bay area.
